Our commitment starts with ourselves - at the heart of our team. We are aware that a strong community is built on fair working conditions and smooth collaboration. To promote this, we introduced the innovative personnel management tool Hotelkit last year. It not only serves as a platform for daily communication, but also creates clear structures and transparency in the allocation of tasks. Everyone in the team, whether they have been with us for many years or are new, can contribute their ideas and concerns quickly and easily – so we work hand in hand and strengthen each other.
From day one, all employees, including our dual students and apprentices, have access to Hotelkit. The platform enables us to exchange information efficiently, coordinate tasks and make important documents, such as training materials or work instructions, available at all times. Thanks to the integrated chat function and daily notifications, the entire team is always up to date and well connected.
Our employees are the heart and soul of our company, and with Hotelkit we want to create a working environment in which everyone feels valued and in good hands. Because only when our team works together harmoniously can we offer our guests the excellent service we stand for. Hotelkit helps us to promote harmonious and fair cooperation in which everyone is heard and included
In addition to our internal commitment, supporting our neighbourhood is also very important to us. On 15th September 2024, we are organising a special charity event at our sister hotel, the Empire Riverside Hotel, where neighbourhood artists will be presenting their work. From 11.00 am, visitors will have the opportunity to admire impressive art by renowned artists such as Klaus Barkowsky, Fiete Frahm, Volker Hämmerling and Agnesa Plaschek, as well as works by the Millerntor Gallery. This art tells the stories and diversity of our neighbourhood and creates a bridge between creativity and social commitment.
We are particularly proud of our partnership with the ‘Schlumper’ studio, which offers artists with various disabilities a platform to present their art. At the same time, the event also supports the Millerntor Gallery, which has made a name for itself with projects in the field of art and social development. The donations collected go directly to these valuable projects and that is exactly what makes this day so special: it shows what is possible when a community comes together and strengthens each other.
Social anchorage in daily hotel business
As a traditional hotel in Hamburg's harbour, we not only care about the comfort of our guests - we also see ourselves as part of the society that surrounds us. For us, social sustainability means taking responsibility with open eyes and a deep sense of awareness precisely where it is needed. Because only together we can create a future worth living. With two very special initiatives, we want to show that we are not just interested in fine words, but in real, tangible commitment.
