Great commitment pays off. Our focus on ecological, economic and social sustainability has proven successful.
The Hotel Hafen Hamburg an den Landungsbrücken is now a certified GreenSign hotel and has been awarded Level 4 out of 5 for its progress and milestones achieved in the area of sustainability.
Read moreSome time ago, our General Manager Enrico Ungermann met the GreenSign team at a sustainability event, exchanged ideas with them about sustainability in our hotels and explained our projects, successes as well as challenges and goals.
After a comparison with other providers who could support us on our way to an even more sustainable company, we finally decided to choose GreenSign as our partner on our way to an even more sustainable company. In addition, GreenSign has recently reached a huge milestone - the seal has been recognised by the international Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and is now also looking forward to the international expansion of the seal.

The GreenSign sustainability certificate, which exists specifically for hotels, has an 81-page catalogue of criteria that includes many points specifically geared to the hotel industry, from economic and social responsibility to communication, environmental resources and waste management to regionality and quality management.
We already fulfil more criteria than the catalogue of requirements for GreenSign Level 4.
Our project plan currently contains 136 points, some of which have already been worked through. Still others are not feasible for various reasons, either because they are prevented for legal reasons or because they are not economically viable.
Nevertheless, we are constantly developing and are very proud of the GreenSign certificate. - The seal and all that has already been implemented are just the beginning of our journey to contribute to climate protection and to promote equality and diversity on a social level.
There is no standing still at Hotel Hafen Hamburg.
