Our seven apprentices have successfully completed their apprenticeship and are now finished. Nathalie Schwarz, one of our recently graduated apprentices, also had the great honour of giving the apprentice speech in front of hundreds of guests at the hospitality professions' graduation ceremony. She humorously told about the ups and downs of her hotel apprenticeship and thus caused a lot of laughter and applause from the audience. We thank her for the exciting speech and wish her a good start into her professional life at our reception.

The Hotel Hafen Hamburg offers apprenticeships as hotel specialist, cook and restaurant specialist. During a 3-year apprenticeship, our apprentices pass through various departments, get an all-round impression and thus gain a lot of new experience. Among other things, the F&B area is part of an apprenticeship as a hotel specialist. This extends over several floors in the Hotel Hafen Hamburg. From the maritime restaurant Port with North German cuisine, to the modern burger restaurant Hafen Diner on the ground floor, through the historic beer bar Willi's in the lobby, the six event rooms distributed throughout the building, to the Tower Bar with delicious cocktails at a height of 62 metres. Our apprentices really get to know everything! Other cornerstones of the training include the purchasing, warehouse, reception, housekeeping and back office departments, such as sales and events. During their time in the reservation and event office, the apprentices have the chance to gain experience not only at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg but also at its sister hotel, the Empire Riverside Hotel. This knowledge makes our future hotel specialists professionals with an all-embracing knowledge of two completely different establishments - a traditional house and a lifestyle and design hotel. Those who want to further specialise their apprenticeship also have the chance to take advantage of additional qualifications - for example, in hotel management, bartending or barista, as well as in other exciting fields of the hotel and catering industry.

Training as a cook with us is much more than just peeling and cutting potatoes. Our apprentices get to know all the stages of a first-class kitchen! From the gardemanger, also known as the cook of the cold kitchen, to the saucier, where the focus is on the preparation of sauces and fish and meat specialities, to the perfect dessert in the patisserie. Whether it's à la carte service or a large event in the banquet kitchen, after completing an apprenticeship as a chef at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg, every move is perfect. The apprentices know how to be little artists at the cooker and get the necessary know-how from us along the way!

We congratulate our apprentices on their successful completion of their training and would like to thank them for their support, commitment and dedication. Together with all those who will continue to accompany us, we are looking forward to the future together in the various departments!
