Summer, sun, beach - as beautiful as the summer in our Hanseatic city may be, we are all drawn out to gather new impressions, discover charming places and return with exciting stories. This was the case for one of our trainees, who spent three weeks from the end of May to the beginning of June in the beautiful town of Rincón de la Victoria, just half an hour from Málaga in Spain.
Our apprentice Leiff applied for an internship in Spain/the exchange project in Spain and was quickly accepted. In addition to his internship in a four-star hotel, he attended a one-week intensive Spanish course. "As I could hardly speak any Spanish before the trip, the language course made it easier for me to start the internship. The work started in the second week; we interns were mainly assigned to the restaurant and beach bar service. This allowed us to strengthen our language skills and familiarise ourselves with the different work processes in another country. We worked five hours a day, the rest was free time. We were able to enjoy the Spanish sun to the fullest, especially as our accommodation was right next to the beach."
Together with two fellow classmates, he lived in a flat not far from the language school and the hotel. / Leiff did not travel to Málaga alone; two classmates from the same school accompanied him and also started an internship in the same town. They lived together in a small but cosy flat not far from the language school and the hotel.
The interns' free time activities were diverse: they enjoyed regular walks on the beach, explored the colourful streets of the Spanish city and enjoyed the diverse culinary options. A road trip to the neighbouring towns of Marbella and Nerja, known for their picturesque beaches and promenades, rounded off the experience.
After three weeks, it was time to say goodbye. Rich in experience and with a summer taint, the trainees returned to our Hanseatic city.
