Sunny-Orja Ndukwe is celebrating his 15th anniversary at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg. As a page he is not only well-known by most guests and colleagues, he also knows every corner of the house and is familiar with the tradition and history of it.

His name says it all; Sunny brightens up the day of many people, day-by-day with his open and warmhearted nature. Therefore, we would like to take the opportunity and say thank you for 15-years of loyalty and commitment and ask Sunny himself what the Hotel Hafen Hamburg embodies for him.

The Hotel has a lot of things to offer, from rich tradition and history over wonderful guests and loyal staff. What makes this place so special to you?
The most special thing to me is the family cohesion and the respectful contact to all of my colleagues. It feels like being part of a huge family. This is what makes my work life so special.

15 years of working at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg, that is such a long time! What is your favourite memory when thinking about the past years?My favourite memory is not a single experience, more over a daily routine. I was already working at the hotel when the founder and legend of the Reeperbahn Willi Barthels was still alive. During that time he used to sit at Willi's Bierstube every morning. I was the one bringing him his daily newspaper. I like to think back to these days because I really enjoyed this kind of morning ceremony.

Do you have an insider tip for our guests?
The portugese quarter with its variety of bars and restaurants is definetly worth a visit! The diversity and the location directly at the Landungsbrücken makes it a unique place which I like to visit on the weekends or after work.
