How about an autumnal boat trip on the Alster instead of the classic harbour tour? From the Hotel Hafen Hamburg, you can reach Jungfernstieg in just under 10 minutes by S-Bahn from Landungsbrücken – the departure point for the famous Alster-steamers! In autumn, it’s an unforgettable experience, surrounded by water and colourful trees along the banks.

More of a landlubber than an Alster skipper? Alternatively, the 7.5-kilometre walking circuit around the Outer Alster offers the same beautiful views of autumn colours.

No other district offers such a view of the Elbe and its autumnal riverbanks as Blankenese. From the Hotel Hafen Hamburg, simply hop on the S1 at Landungsbrücken to travel directly to the famous Treppenviertel and stop off at cosy cafés & breathe in the autumnal air by the Elbe.

Whether you’re heading back from the Treppenviertel to the Hotel Hafen Hamburg or the other way around – in autumn, a stroll along the Elbe promenade and past the many waterfront bars is a must!
